All About Purple: A Craft and a Smoothie · Craftwhack
Isn't majestic a sumptuous color? Juicy and saturated and reminds u.s. all of Prince. Or Barney. Whichever the case, royal is where it's at.
That's why nosotros joined in on a really cool rainbow projection with some really cool bloggers. Yeah, a rainbow project! Each of us has chosen a color for a snack and a kid craft. We're all about smoothies around hither since I bought a NutriBullet, and my kids suck them downwardly, even though they're one-half spinach or kale. Information technology thrills me to pieces to watch them consume something non processed.
And then, in the spirit of purple, nosotros drank royal smoothies and did purple crafting. In fact, I pulled out all the regal art materials I could find, and we experimented. It'due south super fun to focus on one color and experiment with different fine art techniques- you get past the craziness of choosing colors, and jump right into making.
Get-go, the smoothie recipe. This recipe is for NutriBullet, so if you don't have one, run out and buy one immediately, so come back and beverage and craft.
Purple Smoothie
Spinach halfway to the make full line
i Tablespoon or and so almond butter
ane teaspoon chia seeds
Organic blueberries to the fill line
Unsweetened almond milk or coconut water to the fill line
WHIRRRRRRRRRRR
Craft Materials That We Used
Java filters
liquid watercolors
colored bill of fare stock
Tube watercolor
Markers
Crayons
Colored Pencil
Really you can do anything you want, only hither's the order nosotros used the materials:
ane. Dark royal crayon on light royal paper.
2. Light regal crayon circles over the dark majestic squiggle line.
3. Purple watercolor in horizontal stripes over the crayon.
4. Ripped and spiraled (spiral the paper strips around a pencil) paper, glued on.
5. Minor circles with imperial marker.
6. Glued on ripped coffee filter with purple liquid watercolor outcome. (see below for technique)
PHEW! Is that enough art experimenting for you? The fun thing was that this was super piece of cake and open-ended.
Java filter watercolor tie dye: Get a java filter wet and wring it out. Flatten information technology out on a foil-lined pan. Drip liquid watercolor on it and watch it spread. I mixed h2o in with the watercolor paint into a drip bottle, considering information technology'due south such a concentrated color.
Below you can encounter what it looks similar on a dry coffee filter (left) and a damp coffee filter (right). The right one, dripped every bit you see, eventually spread to cover well-nigh the whole filter.
